The Brighter Minds company we operate today has more than 50 years of combined training expertise. It all began when Douglas Winkelman was practicing optometry. He listened to parents describe the problems that their children were having in school allegedly as the result of poor vision. However, after vision correction, Douglas recognized that some children could see the eyechart but did not see the correct mental picture. This is how his research began, eventually evolving into the mental calisthenics program we use today.
Kirk R. Holt received his BA degree at City University and his MBA from Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon. He studied and trained extensively with Dr. Winkelman in Go-Teak © training. Kirk began Brighter Minds, Inc. in February 2000; the mental training and coaching program from which Brighter Minds, LLC evolved. Kirk‘s experience includes 27 years in business counseling and human development in the energy industry. His invaluable training with Dr. Winkelman, his business administration experience and prior entrepreneurial ventures uniquely qualify Kirk to design and manage training activities for Brighter Minds.
Dr. Douglas Winkelman, developed the mental training system upon which the Brighter Minds program is based. His work in human communication and information processing began in 1964. As an eye doctor he realized that too much emphasis was placed on the eyesight system and not enough on the whole person. He has been director and owner of learning centers practicing Go-Teak © training since 1986. Dr. Winkelman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pacific University, and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from Columbia Pacific University. The "Doc" brings more than 40 years of training expertise to Brighter Minds, serving as both member and mentor to the team.
Pam Archer brings over 20 years experience in corporate training and development. After retiring from AT&T, Pam joined the Brighter Minds team as one of our premier trainers. She focuses her talents on marketing and training innovations.
